Law & Order, 24/7

Does anyone else love how you can find an episode of "Law & Order" on at any time of day? It's 1:50 a.m. and I'm watching SVU. It's fabulous, though I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. The other day I was watching and the DA and defense attorney were arguing about whether or not a statement should come in. So the DA goes "this clearly comes in under the excited utterance exception to the hearsay rule" and I thought "hmm, but it's prejudicial". And what the the defense attorney say?: "yes, but your honor, the statement is clearly prejudicial to my client". At first and I was like "YESSSSS"...but then I realized that law school has really taken over my life. Sigh...

Solid Flicks

Go, Go, Go see this movie. It was fantastic. I love going to the movies and usually I don't complain too much, but it's not very often when I see a movie that makes me say "wow, I loved every minute of it". It made me laugh a ton and cry and just felt like a big hug. So yes, go see it.

How Will I Start the New Year???

Next week on VH-1...America's Next Top Model Super Marathon. Seasons 1-9. Heaven.

Sleep, Where Are You?

I'm in Chicago. It's 3:30 a.m. and the wind is blowing super hard outside and snow is swirling everywhere. And I can't sleep. So as I started to run out of websites to read, I remembered my lonely blog. I really, really need to start posting in this more often. I constantly rant about stuff (law school, stupid celebrities, reality tv, etc.) and I really should just post it here. I'll have to work on that.

So why can't I sleep? Because since I've been home, I've been sleeping about 12 hours a day to make up for all the sleep that I didn't get during finals. And I think I've finally caught up, which means that yesterday, I didn't wake up until 2 p.m. which means I'll probably fall asleep around 5 a.m...and have to wake up an hour later to take my mom to work so I can have her car for the day. Gross.

So brief update:

This semester was brutal. Whoever said the 2nd year of law school is easier than the 1st was lying. Finals are a blur and I can't remember anything that I studied. But I do remember this lovely video about hearsay. For all those who have to take evidence, watch and remember...this actually helped and I still laugh:

Chicago has been lovely. It's nice to get out of SF for a while and center myself. I finished all of my shopping for Christmas which is nice and I finally started looking through my stack of wedding magazines with my mom. I told myself that after this semester I would start planning...eek! So I've been marking pages with dresses that I like and will start thinking of locations and such in the coming month or so. I'm freaking out. The idea of planning this amazing event is super exciting, but part of me wants to hire someone that I could talk to for 20 mins about what I like, give them a date and then just show up.

And that's my last few months in a nutshell...exciting I know. I really need to update this thing more often when I can ramble in detail...

Oh 2nd Grade

So as I was walking through Target today, I peeked into the $1 bin (because who doesn't like a good sale) and what did I see? Stuff by Lisa Frank. All those brightly colored pens and notebooks that I loved oh so long ago. Is it weird that seeing this made me sad???

Return from the DR

So the main reason I got this blog was to update my friends on my life while I was on the Dominican Republic trip with USF...too bad every computer I had access to couldn't load the page. So friends, I'm sorry I didn't post.

I just got home a couple of hours ago. I'm crazy tired and my internship starts tomorrow. Should be interesting...

But yes...I survived. It was wonderful. And I will write all about it later.

Starbucks

I've spent the last few days studying at Starbucks. It works well because I won't be distracted by the expensive internet they have, coffee = caffeine which I need so desperately, and it's open 24 hours. So today after a long and frustrating day which resulted in a headache, I decided that I'll just take a super long shower to relieve stress. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love showers and smelling like all the yummy products I have in there. So I shower, get dressed, and sit in front of my computer and I start to smell something...not the yummy pomegranate shower gel I used...but coffee. I smell like coffee.

I need a new place to study.

Jitterbug

The other day I dreamt that I was in this video:

That's right, dancing with George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. I didn't have the funky hair like the girls in the video, but I was rocking the outfit. Perhaps this is a sign that I'm going crazy...

Recap Shows

So after a really long day at school, I realize that it's Wednesday which = one of my favorite parts of the week: America's Next Top Model. So I make myself work really hard so that I can lounge on the couch and watch. And what do I get? Recap show. Most people know that I love Tyra, but I really didn't want to hear her tell me to watch an "exciting" never before seen clip of the girls at the park having a picnic.

I don't see the need for recap shows. Before almost every show it says, "Previously on ___" and they show clips from previous episodes that in some way relate to the new episode. It's especially unnecessary with shows like Top Model where it's the same thing every week - catty girls, a challenge pertaining to modeling in some way, photo shoot, evaluation, elimination.

I hope you enjoyed the week off Top Model...cause you better be good next week
