A Letter to SF

Dear San Francisco,

Today I got all dolled up to go to court. I was super excited to wear my cute 3/4 sleeve coat (a la Audrey Hepburn) and new sunglasses. I even got up early to curl my hair. And what did you do? You allowed it to rain - not just little droplets, but massive, pouring rain. You also allowed the wind to blow so hard that it made my umbrella turn inside out so that I couldn't properly cover myself. Then, you allowed the bart station's escalator to break so that I had to walk down the slippery, wet steps in 4 inch heels. And finally, you allowed bart to stop on the tracks for 30 minutes while they figured out a problem on a train in front of me.

In conclusion, I ask that you be a little more considerate on my day off.

Love,

Bianca

I spent the last few hours packing up all my stuff and getting ready to say goodbye to Chicago. I'm usually sad to leave, but for some reason tonight I was super emotional about it and I couldn't stop crying. Crazy, right?

For some reason this trip was really hard for me. I was super psyched to see friends, family, etc. But I didn't realize how much stuff I had been holding in. I have this ridiculous tendency to be the "strong one". So when I got home I was feeling a little weak and icky and I just figured that my body was trying to recouperate from finals. But I was dealing with questions left and right about the parents divorce and having to explain why I'm not talking to my dad and how I should be a "good daughter", etc. And then one night, I felt super sick, starting shaking really bad and had this awful, hardcore panic attack. Had to breathe into a paper bag and all. Gross.

The whole thing really freaked me out. Like duh, I go to law school, I'm going to be stressed. And I've spent so much energy forcing myself to push everything else in my life in the back of my head. I was so pissed at myself for cracking. But I just hate having to leave my mom and brother in this house while I take off. Though it was great to see friends and I missed my SF friends dearly, last week was fantastic, having Matt here with my fam. It was like I had everything I needed - and now it gets ripped apart. I should just pack my family in some human sized suitcase and bring them with me.

Sorry for the sappy post...now go watch the America's Next Top Model Super Modelthon

Law & Order, 24/7

Does anyone else love how you can find an episode of "Law & Order" on at any time of day? It's 1:50 a.m. and I'm watching SVU. It's fabulous, though I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. The other day I was watching and the DA and defense attorney were arguing about whether or not a statement should come in. So the DA goes "this clearly comes in under the excited utterance exception to the hearsay rule" and I thought "hmm, but it's prejudicial". And what the the defense attorney say?: "yes, but your honor, the statement is clearly prejudicial to my client". At first and I was like "YESSSSS"...but then I realized that law school has really taken over my life. Sigh...

Solid Flicks

Go, Go, Go see this movie. It was fantastic. I love going to the movies and usually I don't complain too much, but it's not very often when I see a movie that makes me say "wow, I loved every minute of it". It made me laugh a ton and cry and just felt like a big hug. So yes, go see it.

How Will I Start the New Year???

Next week on VH-1...America's Next Top Model Super Marathon. Seasons 1-9. Heaven.

Sleep, Where Are You?

I'm in Chicago. It's 3:30 a.m. and the wind is blowing super hard outside and snow is swirling everywhere. And I can't sleep. So as I started to run out of websites to read, I remembered my lonely blog. I really, really need to start posting in this more often. I constantly rant about stuff (law school, stupid celebrities, reality tv, etc.) and I really should just post it here. I'll have to work on that.

So why can't I sleep? Because since I've been home, I've been sleeping about 12 hours a day to make up for all the sleep that I didn't get during finals. And I think I've finally caught up, which means that yesterday, I didn't wake up until 2 p.m. which means I'll probably fall asleep around 5 a.m...and have to wake up an hour later to take my mom to work so I can have her car for the day. Gross.

So brief update:

This semester was brutal. Whoever said the 2nd year of law school is easier than the 1st was lying. Finals are a blur and I can't remember anything that I studied. But I do remember this lovely video about hearsay. For all those who have to take evidence, watch and remember...this actually helped and I still laugh:

Chicago has been lovely. It's nice to get out of SF for a while and center myself. I finished all of my shopping for Christmas which is nice and I finally started looking through my stack of wedding magazines with my mom. I told myself that after this semester I would start planning...eek! So I've been marking pages with dresses that I like and will start thinking of locations and such in the coming month or so. I'm freaking out. The idea of planning this amazing event is super exciting, but part of me wants to hire someone that I could talk to for 20 mins about what I like, give them a date and then just show up.

And that's my last few months in a nutshell...exciting I know. I really need to update this thing more often when I can ramble in detail...

Oh 2nd Grade

So as I was walking through Target today, I peeked into the $1 bin (because who doesn't like a good sale) and what did I see? Stuff by Lisa Frank. All those brightly colored pens and notebooks that I loved oh so long ago. Is it weird that seeing this made me sad???
